How is Puerto Rico recovering post-hurricane?

While Hurricane Maria took a significant toll on Puerto Rico, public and private institutions across the U.S. have made it clear that the country does not stand alone. In January, the Army Corps of Engineers finished negotiating contracts for the rehabilitation of Puerto Rico’s power grid, and now contractors from all over the U.S. are flooding into the country.

Companies with long histories of investing in Puerto Rico such as Microsoft, Lufthansa, Bacardi, Walmart, Medtronic, Amgen and Sartorious are now doubling down. These companies, along with Tesla, Google, and Amazon are dedicating billions of dollars towards the goal of a 21st century, state-of-the-art Puerto Rico. The way ahead is up, and we’re getting in at the ground level.

Where and when will the conference be held?

The conference will take place from April 24th – 26th, 2018, at the San Juan Marriott Resort on Condado Beach.

What real estate opportunities will we be explored over the conference?

Based on our research, the neighborhoods of Old San Juan, Condado, Ocean Park and Santurce all exhibit the highest potential that San Juan has to offer. Because of this, we will be focusing on these four areas.

When will we be seeing these properties?

Day 2 of the conference, the afternoon of Wednesday, April 25, 2018.

Will there be experts on Acts 20 and 22 at the conference in Puerto Rico in addition to dedicated conference time on the matter?

Yes both as speakers and in an Act 20/22 Panel

How do I use Act 20 to my advantage?

Act 20 provides tax incentives to a wide range of corporate entities. Under Act 20 Puerto Rican qualified companies will enjoy:

 - A corporate tax rate of 4%

 - Tax exemption on dividends, interest and capital gains

 - 100% exemption on property taxes

How do I use Act 22 to my advantage?

In order to qualify for tax exemptions under Act 22, individuals must gain Puerto Rican residency. Under Act 22, residents of Puerto Rico may enjoy:

 - A personal tax rate of 0%

Will there be representatives from FAR and affiliates who can assist me in organizing any next steps with regard to investments and requisite legal paperwork?

Is this conference a full three days?

This conference opens on Tuesday morning, April 24 and ends with a ‘flex’ afternoon on Thursday, April 26.

Here is the info of our point-of-contact at the Marriott. Her name is Yessenia Davila, and she will be able to assist you with booking one of our rooms. All you have to do is reach out to her, tell her you’re interested in booking with FAR, and then tell her the dates of interest.

Here is her email:

Her direct line: (787) 289-6028

The Marriott front desk (unfortunately I’ve found calling this, and then asking for her, to be more reliable than calling her directly): (787) 722-7000

I have more questions, who can I contact?
